I like to think that I have a healthy amount of vanity. I like to look nice and try to present the best-looking version of me to the world. But I don't spend hours (or hundreds of dollars) on upkeep. The most time-consuming task in my beauty routine is styling my hair. Because it's naturally curly and frizz-prone, it takes me about an hour to either straighten it or dry it in nice pretty curls.
So when I thought of Beauty for B and was trying to figure out exactly what I would write, I ended up on settling on a list of the products that I use. I'm a creature of habit and buy the same products over and over. So here you are, the list of some of my favorite products that make me look like my fabulous self...
Revlon Colorsilk hair dye #48 Burgundy - I started going grey a few years ago and dye my hair regularly. I played around with several colors and this is the one that I settled on.
AVON SuperExtend Extreme Mascara - This is brand new in my makeup selection and I LOVE it! Best mascara ever!
AVON True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Purple Haze, Mocha Latte and Fresh Cut Greens - Since I feel like my eyes are my best feature I found the colors I thought were most flattering and stick with them.
AVON Shine Attract Lipstick in Wrapped in Raisin - I looooove this lipstick. I usually put Chapstick over my lipstick for a slight sheen but I don't have to do that at all with this.
AVON Nail Experts Strong Results - If I can keep from biting my nails long enough for them to grow, this is fantastic.
Remington Wet 2 Style - I love this. Whoever invented it is amazing. Mine's not like the one they sell now, it's more of a flat iron with curved plates but it's awesome.
Jergens Natural Glow Revitalizing Daily Moisturizer - I love being tan so I used to use this and lay out in the sun (I'd be the worst vampire ever). This helps even out any tan lines you have and extends your tan further into the winter. I haven't bought any in a while because I had a bunch of other body lotions hanging out, taking up space and won't buy any till I use every other lotion I have, but this by far is my favorite.
That's it. Those are my favorites, the products I would shrivel up and die without. What's yours?

My hair is naturally wavy and then of course frizzy, I hate humid weather. lol....right now I am using WELLA 's Straight ahead and it works quite nicely on keeping my hair straight and frizz free.Haven't managed to get pretty curls yet...:(
ReplyDeleteTina - I never know what I'm going to get when I go for the curls. Strangely diffusers make my hair frizzier.
DeleteMy vanity comes and goes in phases---some days I have to look my best, others, I couldn't care less---great mix of products you have there!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to your challenge run...

Damyanti - Some days I care more than others.
DeleteI have naturally curly/wavy hair too. Thank God for Frizz Ease & Curls Rock. They have been my salvation lately! :-)
ReplyDeleteKelly - Never tried Curls Rock but I have Frizz Ease. That was when I had the worst split ends I've ever had.
DeleteI totally need somebody to tell me how to dress AND to tell me how to put on makeup! I try, but I'm not good at it, so thanks for the tips!! Look forward to the rest of your alphabet!
ReplyDeleteJudy - I just switched up my makeup and used the videos from the user pixi2woo on YouTube to see different techniques. For clothes I look at celebs that I like.
DeleteI have naturally curly hair- all I gotta say is Moroccan Oil Curl Creme keeps my sanity!!!! :) that, and colored lip gloss ;)
ReplyDeleteRana - I used to do the lip gloss thing then one day I just stopped. Now I can't stand the feel of it.
ReplyDeleteHi KC - This is one of my favourite topic - as an esthetician for the past twenty-eight years products and how they are used has been a passion of mine.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to read that you are taking good care of your skin and your overall appearance - pride in ones grooming is vital to a healthy sense of self.
Great "B" post.

Thanks Jenny. I've found that how much I care on a day is directly tied to how I feel. And if I "fake it" and go through the routine, I'll feel better.
