Blogging From A To Z Challenge: C-Food

Time for another entry in the Blogging From A to Z Challenge, the letter C! Yaaaaaayyyyyy!

When I was thinking of things to write about I made a mental list of my very favorite foods. Six of them to be exact. And I realized that of those six, five of them began with the letter C. How awesome (or weird) is that?

So here they are in no particular order...

Cheesecake. It doesn't matter what kind. Chocolate. Strawberry. New York. Turtle. Whatever. I love it, so gimme. I generally buy my cheesecake at Wal-Mart and have never made it. I did find this recipe by Bobby Flay and it makes me drool. I may have to attempt it. Did you know Paula Deen makes a deep-fried cheesecake? Excuse me while I go barf at the disgustingness of that.

Chicken and Dumplings. I loooooove chicken and dumplings. We don't eat it nearly enough and I don't know why. I could eat it every night and be totally okay with that. Yum.

Chocolate. Anyone who doesn't love chocolate must have something malfunctioning in their brain. Seriously. The best forms of it are Hershey Kisses, chocolate chip cookies (using the Nestle Toll House recipe), and chocolate milk.

Cherry Pepsi. I know, I know. It's so unhealthy. Easily the most unhealthy item on this list but I can't help it. I've always had a weakness for soda, especially this one. I've cut way back on my intake but it's still too easy for me to slide back into old routines.

Coffee. And I'm not even talking about the crazy expensive, novelty type at Starbucks. Just plain old coffee straight from the pot with a little bit of powder creamer. I love coffee. Einstein Brothers Bagels has some of the best flavors.

And in case you were wondering, my favorite food that's not a C is strawberries. Fresh unaltered strawberries. I can (and do) eat them by the pound. Do not come between me and strawberries, you're likely to get bitten. But oddly, I can't stand chocolate-covered strawberries. It takes something away from both the chocolate and the strawberry. Weird.

  1. I've eaten breakfast but could go for some chicken & dumplings, yum.

Chocolate, only the super dark kind for me please! Milk chocolate makes me want to gag.

But, will you eat your strawberries with watermelon, those two pair beautifully.

    1. Jenn - Milk chocolate makes you gag? Wow.

I'm not opposed to strawberries and melon together. But the strawberries don't usually last until the watermelon is cut.

  2. Oh yes, some wonderful C foods :) Love every single one of yours, except for the coffee - love the smell but I don't drink it. I think I need to go get me some cheesecake!

  6. Good choices...except the coffee...ewww. But I agree, I don't understand people who don't like chocolate. I think it should be it's own food group.

    1. Gerri - yup it should be it's own food group. Who do we contact to make it happen?

  7. I didn't see any cauliflower on your list, young lady! Ok, that was your conscience speaking. Personally, I think you picked some winners. Bet you'd really love strawberry pie, too, and it's so easy to make. Okeydoke, just doing a quick fly-by, so I'm outta here. Happy A-Zing!

    1. Susan - yeah, I don't eat cauliflower. Ever. I've never actually had strawberry pie. I may have to try it. Doubt the strawberries will last long enough to get to the pie though.

  9. Great post, except that coffee-straight-out-of-the-pot should top the list. It starts the day off right; should do the same with the list. Just saying, lol!

    1. LOL I probably should have put it first. The way I'm feeling this morning there's just not enough coffee in the world.
