Blogging From A to Z Challenge: KC

Yep, that's right. My next Blogging From A to Z Challenge post is all about me!

Actually, I just couldn't think of a good K. So I went with KC and figured I'd tell you things about me that don't fit into the other posts. I have them all planned out so I know what I'm going to write about. Hopefully I don't duplicate anything. If I do, sorry.

So there's me. I gave myself some bangs a couple weeks ago and took pictures to show them off. That's my natural curl on the right. It behaved itself rather well the day I took that picture. That's even a little windblown. I do wear glasses. I took them off in the pictures because they kept reflecting the window and made me look like I had no eyes.

I figure probably the best format is some random facts. I'll go for ten. So here we go...

1. I'm afraid of the dark. I have a multi-device charger that has a blue light on it that I use like a night light.

2. Clowns are really damned creepy. I hate them. I don't want them around me in any way, shape or form. There's a reason that Pennywise is a clown. Because Stephen King knows that all clowns are serial killers.

3. I refuse to leave my toenails unpainted. The only time they're unpainted is while I'm actually giving myself a pedicure and changing the polish. If I'm ever in a coma or physically unable to paint them myself, I expect my family to maintain them.

4. As much as I love music, I'm not an auditory person at all. I have to learn by reading and doing. When I had lecture-type classes in school, I tuned out a lot.

5. I get motion-sick playing video games. The darker the game screen, the worse it is. As a result, I'm not a very good gamer. I can only play for about 20 minutes at a time so it takes me months to complete games. So I generally stick to racing or Harry Potter games that will keep me interested for months.

6. I daydream. A lot. You know that stereotype that pisces are spacey and daydreamy? Yup. Me.

7. Speaking of the zodiac... I do believe there's some validity to it. I like to read my horoscope at the end of the day to see how accurate it was.

8. I still have no idea what I want to do with my life. Some of the things that appeal to me are: photography, teaching, book store, yarn store, fabric store, coffee shop, dog bakery, writing, fashion design, interior design, bed and breakfasts, owning rental property, framing art, musician. Plus not to mention actually making money from selling my crochet, embroidery, sewing, quilting, etc.

9. I play the "If I win the Mega Millions..." game a lot. I like to think of ways that I would spend the money. I tell myself it's that whole "See it, Be it" thing. But I dunno, maybe I'm just torturing myself.

10. My favorite colors are brown and pink. I'm also drawn to purple, teal and blue a lot.

Wow. That was kind of hard to think of ten random things.

  1. Umm...I didn't know I had a long lost twin!! It's eerie how similar you sound to me. Except for the toe thing! I hate having my toes touched and can't stand to paint them! Ick!

Good K post! It's nice to have a chance to talk about yourself. Which sounds weird because as bloggers we all kind of talk about ourselves, but not so specific and facty.

    1. Heather - On one hand it seems like I totally put myself out there on the blog, and on the other it still feels like no one really KNOWS me. Blogging is a very weird world.

  2. You may not know it yet, but we're destined to be blogging buddies for EVER!

Holy cow, changing your hair from curly to straight, you look like a totally different person.

Regarding # 3, have you clarified with your family what colors are acceptable? I'd hate to wake up one day & see that somebody has painted my toenails green.

(and yes, this comment is already too long, but I have something to say about every single random item, but I won't, self control, I has it)!

    1. Jenn - I had that feeling that we'd be buddies. :) And I have green polish. I have nearly every color of the rainbow. It's an obsession.

I don't mind long comments. I've been reading your blog, I think I've commented a couple times. But I'm a horrible commenter. Sorry. I'll try more.

  3. Interesting tidbits. And as long as you're checking the horoscope at the END of the day to see how close it was, as opposed to checking it at the BEGINNING of the day and trying to turn it into some kind of self-fulfilling prophecy, it's all good. My mother used to believe in all kinds of unusual things, like horoscopes, but I'm more of a skeptic when it comes to that sort of thing. (Doesn't mean I don't see what's listed for Sagittarius at the end of the day, though ...)

    1. Susan - I'm not sure when I got started reading them at the end of the day. It's fun to look back and see if the horoscope is relevant to what happened. Most of the time I can find something that it predicted and not in a way where I'm really stretching to make it fit.

  4. This is a great list of things. Video games make me sick too. When Nintendo 64 first came out (yes, I am old), I had trouble playing the James Bond game with my son. Gave me massive headaches too.

Good luck with the rest of the challenge.

  5. KC, I love the part you put in there about Pisces...oh yeah, that is so me! Actually tons of stuff on your list are on mine too. I love coming across kindred spirits. Clowns! Oh how I hate them...I remember someone buying me a jack in the box when I was a kid that had a clown in it. The thing scared the hell out of me, but mom insisted that I keep it. Well, I broke the sucker so she would allow me to throw it out. Still can't stand them. And the dark thing...yep!

The yarn store or something else to do with creativity or the arts would be so awesome. Okay, you get the point. ;) Great post!

    1. Tracy - I had one clown doll that was really cute and is the only clown I've ever liked. But luckily no one has forced clowns on me like your mom made you keep the jack in the box. Ack.

I would love to own a yarn store. Being surrounded by so many pretty colors and textures all day would be heaven.
