Blogging From A to Z Challenge: Yarn

You had to know that my Y post for the Blogging From A to Z Challenge was going to be about yarn.

I've been crocheting about seven years now and I absolutely love it. I want to learn to knit as well; not sure when that'll happen but eventually it will.

I use Red Heart Super Saver a lot, because it's cheap and available in so many stores. But my favorite yarns are Caron Simply Soft and Lion Brand Vanna's Choice. I've also just used Lion Brand Pound of Love for the first time. I love it. It's soft and has a great texture. It might join my favorites list.

I also don't shy away from the novelty yarns and love Lion Brand Fun Fur and Festive Fur. My only complaint about the fuzzy yarns is how hard they are to wash. The fur gets matted down easily and then the item just looks like crap. Ah well. I just have to be more careful washing and drying items that have novelty yarns in them.

Well, I could gush for hours about yarn. I have a craft blog, Oh Frog It, where I blog about my crochet and other craft projects. Check it out.

  1. I've been crocheting for about two years now and my yarn stock is seriously overwhelming. It's gotten to the point where I won't go to the craft store because I know I'll come home with more yarn!!

    1. I don't know of any yarncrafter who doesn't have a stash. I have an R2-D2 that was a Pepsi display in a store that I use to house my stash. He vomits all over the floor frequently. I'm trying to get rid of everything and start fresh.

  2. I've been crocheting for over 30 years. I love it. I have a whole closet dedicated to yarn. It drives my husband crazy. I almost never get rid of yarn because I love making scrap afghans. They make great gifts. I want to learn to knit but not sure I can do the whole two hands at one time thing...sometimes I have trouble with just the crochet hook :)

    1. The whole two hands vs one hand was why I chose crochet over knitting. Your stash must be epic.
