The Importance of Being Earnest - I got the version with Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon. Apparently there's different version. The first half is slow and crazy boring. The last half, after the girls find out that the men are not named Ernest, is funny and entertaining. If you've never watched it, it's worth toughing out the first half because the second half is good.
After the Thin Man - The second in the series. The movie is funny as hell. Nick and Nora are home in California and her cousin's good-for-nothing husband is missing. It's got James Stewart in it. And it is AWESOME! Love him. Totally good. You have to watch it.
Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House - I put this in my queue because it has Cary Grant. But it also has Myrna Loy. And I have to say that I'm beginning to love her; she's excellent. This movie is similar to The Money Pit. But this one is sooooo much better. Check it out.
AnotherThin Man - Nick and Nora have a baby! I love how they start calling each other Mommy and Daddy through the movie. In some movies it feels really fake and is just stupid when characters do that, but it's so sweet and believable in this movie. The story is great too. For some reason the fourth and fifth movies aren't available on Netflix and there's an infinitely long wait for the sixth movie. Sucks.

I loved that movie. Loved. And Colin Firth ain't no slouch, either.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen tons of his movies but I've liked him in everything I've seen him in.
